CSS2 in review
CSS2 has been around as a web language since 1998 but has taken years to be widely adopted by the web community at large. In the early years of the web HTML tables in layout were the norm. The conventional thought was that CSS was simply a language of dynamically placed fonts. The over all layout structure was left to table convention. But now a great paradigm shift has occurred. Companies large and small are shifting web design tactics in droves. CSS2 has become big in a big way. Most of the CSS2 bugs in the early browsers such as IE 5.0 and 5.5 have been worked out and use of the markup can now be developed without any worries. I have it on good authority that large web consultancies have been developing sites purely in CSS2 since 2003.
Why the Man in Blue Rocks
My hat goes off to people who are leading the charge in terms of this technology. This site has been inspired by developer web sites such as The Man in Blue. His enthusiasm for the web and sense of humor pour through his web pages. It is quite an entertaining web site and I check back in often. I hope that this web site can serve the same function and bring developers and designers together in a fun and entertaining environment.
CSS2 Specification
The W3C sent the recommendation for CSS2 back in 1998. It is the reason why this web site exists in the first place. If you have not already browsed the specification already it is a good read.
